Finance Manager

Finance / Payroll Manager – Bucharest
Exiger is seeking a talented Finance / Payroll Manager to join our newly formed office in Bucharest. This individual will support the management of our office operations, manage the billing and accounts payable processes, and ensure our Bucharest operations are running smoothly.
The qualified candidate will be a proven professional in handling facilities, office operations and general finance responsibilities. The ideal candidate has a Finance or Accounting background, familiarity with accounting principles, strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and experience working in Microsoft Excel. The Finance / Payroll Manager must also have the ability to take initiative, effectively resolve any issues that arise, and maintain confidentiality. This role reports to Bucharest Operations Lead as well as the Finance and Talent & Culture team Leads in New York
Key Finance Responsibilities:
  • Manages the workflow of all vendor invoices in our financial systems
  • Manages Accounts Payable process for Bucharest office to ensure the information contained within vendor bills is accurate with appropriate documentation prior to payment processing
  • Assists with monthly corporate close procedures including the preparation of various general ledger schedules and supplemental analyses
  • Provides support for year-end audit as needed.
  • Facilitates build-out of office space in collaboration with a third-party property management company
  • Manages VAT filing process for purchase/sale of products/services in Romania while working with New York-based Finance team and outside accountants
  • Works closely with Finance team in the preparation and submission of yearly statutory filings including financial statements and accounting reports
  • Supervises office administrative staff and actively support the Bucharest office recruitment process by ensuring candidates have a positive in-office experience

Key Payroll Responsibilities
  • Prepare payroll reports for processing with HR services vendor including the review and approval of weekly timesheets

  • Records new hires and terminations and all payroll-related adjustments into global HR information system
  • Supports new employee onboarding and performs various benefit administration responsibilities as needed
  • Works closely with global Talent & Culture professionals to ensure data integrity and the processing and reporting of Human Resources data
  • Act as a point of contact for data requests within the organization and respond to technical questions and issues

Knowledge & Skills:
  • Familiarity with accounting principles and knowledge of general ledgers (financial systems) and HRIS systems a plus
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully
  • Self-starter and highly motivated with the ability to work independently and/or collaboratively and easily to adapt to a change in a high growth environment
  • Strong organizational, project and time management skills with ability to prioritize and plan work activities, meet productivity standards, multi-task and use time efficiently
  • Keen focus on attention to detail and thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality and applies feedback to improve
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers across all levels and business units
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner

Professional Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree desirable
  • Candidate should have 5-7 years prior work experience. 
  • Prior work experience supporting small businesses in Bucharest and had the opportunity to manage a satellite office would be beneficial
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to consolidate analyze, summarize and drive insights from large sets of data from multiple sources

Fluent in English and Romanian, written and oral communication required
